Media malfeasance

I've always believed in the media. Well, I believe in the need for a free press and their role in democracy remains central to the success of our institutions. For that reason, one of the most disturbing things to happen in my life is the wholesale acquiescence of the media (legacy) to political agendas, abandoning responsibility to their special place and calling. Nothing signified that sell-out more than the Rather story in 2004. Little Green Footballs did yeoman work in revealing the malfeasance of CBS at the time; today they continue the story that should have been laid to rest years ago.

I have come to believe that CBS, Mapes and Rather knew what they were doing, and in their ignorance and arrogance decided that they knew best what the country needed, and perpetuated nothing short of fraud on the American people. This remains the most egregious example of the legacy medias failures; sadly it's not the only or the last. addam
